PCC MISSION MOMENTS
We serve, Jesus heals
Presbyterians Sharing supports Dr. Nicholas and Rebecca Bauman as they serve with the United Mission to Nepal, one of the PCC’s long-standing partners. Nick will work as a general surgeon at the United Mission Hospital in Tansen, which serves a population of about one million people in western Nepal. The hospital’s motto is “We serve, Jesus heals.” Nick will engage in clinical work, with a heavy emphasis on teaching Nepali medical residents. Becky is an Occupational Therapist and is excited to discover ways in which to utilize her skills.
The final Presbyterians Sharing numbers are in and we are grateful to you and Presbyterians across Canada for your faithful and generous support. A total of $6,814,363 was contributed by congregations and individuals in 2016, representing tremendous generosity from the almost 90,000 people who attend the PCC’s 840 congregations, achieving 96% of our goal. The congregational remittance reports are going in the mail this week and we will be mailing a thank-you letter to each congregation shortly.
Your contribution impacts many areas of the PCC.
- 36% equips congregations for vital and creative ministry across Canada
- 17% goes towards leadership development, including theological education of ministers through the three Presbyterian colleges
- 15% supports international ministry partners by sending mission staff and providing grants for mission work
Many congregations are in the midst of planning for their Annual General Meeting, and we’ve been receiving calls and emails from people looking for their suggested allocation. So, this is just a friendly reminder that the 2017 suggested allocation for Langley Presbyterian Church (WE250) is $11,986.60 . Please contact our office if you have any questions. Accepted allocations can be reported back through your Presbytery, online or by sending us an email.
