PRESBYTERIAN SHARING NEWS The past few days have been busy in the finance department at the PCC. Since Christmas, congregations have given over $600,000 to Presbyterians Sharing, in addition to gifts made to Presbyterian World Service & Development, International and Canadian Ministries and other special ministry areas of the PCC. It is always inspiring to experience the generosity of Presbyterians firsthand. This is just a quick note to let you know that as of January 5, 2018 we have received $9000 from Langley Presbyterian Church (WE250) towards your accepted allocation of $9000. Thank you for sharing in the mission and ministry we do together! Gifts to Presbyterians Sharing are sharing the good news of the gospel with many people. If you will be sending something more for 2017, please note that all cheques must be dated December 31, 2017 (or earlier), clearly marked for Presbyterians Sharing and received by Tuesday, January 16, 2018 to count towards your church’s 2017 contribution. If you are mailing a cheque after today, please send via express post or courier and send us a copy of the cheque via email or fax, so that it can be accrued into our books if it doesn’t’ reach the office in time. However we do need a copy to accrue the cheque. Once again, thank you for your support and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with you in 2018! If there is anything else we can do to be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
PCC MISSION MOMENTS Ready to go back to work
Presbyterians Sharing is helping to transform the lives of people in Montreal’s Little Burgundy neighbourhood. The statistics for Little Burgundy are grim: 2/3 of children and youth live below the poverty line and 32% of students drop out before finishing high school. But Tyndale St.-Georges Community Centre is helping provide community members with the tools they need to realize their dreams, at every life stage. Tyndale’s employment programs not only teach job search techniques, but also build self-esteem and life skills. Jane shares, “I came to Tyndale during the lowest time in my life, and I decided to give it a shot. I was looking for something to bring back my self-confidence that would enable me to go back to the workforce. And Tyndale delivered exactly what I was looking for. And now I’m strong, I’m back again, and I’m ready to go back to work!” Presbyterians Sharing helps people transform their lives and realize their dreams
