PRAYER WALK – Please join your pastor each Wednesday at 12:00 noon for a half hour prayer walk through our church neighbourhood. We will meet in the sanctuary for prayer. Then we will walk through our neighbourhood praying for the needs of our community. We will finish with a prayer time in the sanctuary and then gather in the minister’s study for lunch and fellowship (please bring a bag lunch).
MEN’S BREAKFAST – On the first Saturday of each month, starting Saturday May 5 at 9:00 AM, the men of Langley Presbyterian are invited to come to breakfast at the church, bring your friends and family. Tom and Dennis will prepare eggs, sausages and pancakes. There will be a nominal $3 cost for the food. We will also share some soul food in the form of a devotional time and have a short business meeting. If you would like to help with preparing for these events see Tom or Dennis.
PASTOR’S PITCH – HELP NEEDED – We are planning a LPC 40th anniversary celebration for November of this year. We plan to honour and celebrate our past 40 years together as we look forward to the coming 40 years that God has in store for us as a congregation. We will be needing your help to make this all happen. So stay tuned for ways in which you may be asked to pitch in. For now we need the services of a few P.I.’s (private detectives), some folks who are willing to use their sleuthing skills to look up, locate and invite people from our past to come join us as we celebrate in November. If you are a closet Sherlock Holmes please contact Marianne Lazaro to receive your assignment.
LPC AGM meeting minutes report is on the back of the sanctuary. You can pick it up if you would like to have.
LORI HASTINGS has agreed to take on the job of envelope secretary and church website. We are very happy that she has chosen to serve in this way.

Please check the lists to see whose district you are in. If your name does not appear on any of the lists please contact Clara, our administrator.

PCC MISSION MOMENTS A healing ministry
Through Presbyterians Sharing, Kenora Fellowship Centre is nurturing healing and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. Also called Anamiewigummig, meaning “House of Prayer”, the centre provides sanctuary and hospitality for people marginalized and alienated by poverty and addiction. A weekly worship service held on Sunday afternoons often includes a sharing circle, drumming and the sharing of traditional foods. Through a drop-in centre, detoxification programs, street patrol, and soup kitchen, each day the hardworking staff share God’s love as well as friendship, community, and solidarity. This ministry represents a place of hope for healing and wholeness and serves as a model of Christian community for the wider church.

DO YOU HAVE A MINUTE? That’s all it will take to fill out the simple survey that you will find in your bulletin. The Social Justice Action Committee of presbytery wants to hear from you about which social issues are important to you as a Christian. Just tick a couple of issues, or add your own, and hand the survey in with your offering or give it to an elder. This will be a big help as we set priorities for our work. Thank you for your minute! The survey forms are available at the back of the sanctuary.
