PASTOR’S PITCH – HELP NEEDEDWe are planning a LPC 40th anniversary celebration for November of this year. We plan to honour and celebrate our past 40 years together as we look forward to the coming 40 years that God has in store for us as a congregation. We will be needing your help to make this all happen. So stay tuned for ways in which you may be asked to pitch in. For now we need the services of a few P.I.’s (private detectives), some folks who are willing to use their sleuthing skills to look up, locate and invite people from our past to come join us as we celebrate in November. If you are a close Sherlock Holmes please contact Marianne Lazaro to receive your assignment.

ALL LADIES ARE INVITED Ladies Fellowship group meeting on Friday, April 27th at 11.30 am. Bring a bagged lunch, tea and coffee will be provided, we will discuss ideas and plans for the future of our group, hope to see you there!!! Audrey

PCC MISSION MOMENTS Easing suffering in Bangladesh

Since the outbreak of state-led violence against the Rohingya minority in Myanmar’s Rakhine state, Safiri has been living in fear. Her husband was shot and her entire village burned to the ground. One night, fearing an attack by members of the army, she fled with her children across dangerous countryside to the Balukhai camp in Bangladesh. Their arrival brought new challenges—shelter conditions were miserable and food, water and sanitation services scarce. Safiri’s story of suffering is hard to grasp, but her needs for survival are very real. PWS&D, alongside Canadian Foodgrains Bank and ACT Alliance, is helping Rohingya refugees like Safiri meet their basic needs and find hope that life will once again be normal.

PWS&D responds to meet the needs of refugees

DO YOU HAVE A MINUTE? That’s all it will take to fill out the simple survey that you will find in your bulletin. The Social Justice Action Committee of presbytery wants to hear from you about which social issues are important to you as a Christian. Just tick a couple of issues, or add your own, and hand the survey in with your offering or give it to an elder. This will be a big help as we set priorities for our work. Thank you for your minute! The survey forms are available at the back of the sanctuary.
