PRAYER WALK – Please join your pastor each Wednesday at 12:00 noon for a half hour prayer walk through our church neighbourhood. We will meet in the sanctuary for prayer. Then we will walk through our neighbourhood praying for the needs of our community. We will finish with a prayer time in the sanctuary and then gather in the minister’s study for lunch and fellowship (please bring a bag lunch).

We are happy to announce that the first meeting of the LPC small group ministry will be held on Saturday May 26 at 9:30 AM, here at the church. We will be exploring the theme of our group which will be, “Spiritual formation is the process of being formed into the image of Christ, for others”. If the idea of spiritual formation in a small group setting interests you please attend. The meeting will end by 11:00 AM.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING TO ADOPT LPC TRUST DEED – This announcement is notice that we will hold a congregational meeting to approve a Trust Deed for Langley Presbyterian Church. The meeting hold in the sanctuary immediately after church services. According to the polity of The Presbyterian Church in Canada each congregation must have a trust deed in place. A trust deed sets out the rules governing the trustees of the congregation who hold the property of the congregation in trust for the sole use and benefit of the congregation. Trustees shall have and only have the power and authority to execute documents as approved by the congregation and shall be no more and no less than a pen in the hand of the congregation. Copies of the proposed trust deed for LPC are available at the back of the church or you may request a digital version by contacting the church office. The proposed Trust Deed details the responsibilities of LPC’s trustees for those who wish to know. Our current trustees are: Mr. Trevor Fowler, Mr. Terry Ames and Mr. Gary Weerts.

PASTOR’S PITCH – HELP NEEDED – We are planning a LPC 40th anniversary celebration for November of this year. We plan to honour and celebrate our past 40 years together as we look forward to the coming 40 years that God has in store for us as a congregation. We will be needing your help to make this all happen. So stay tuned for ways in which you may be asked to pitch in. For now we need the services of a few P.I.’s (private detectives), some folks who are willing to use their sleuthing skills to look up, locate and invite people from our past to come join us as we celebrate in November. If you are a close Sherlock Holmes please contact Marianne Lazaro to receive your assignment.
