PCC MISSION MOMENTS Planting new seeds of ministry As a symbol of the Kingdom of God, Jesus shares the image of a small mustard seed that, when planted by a sower, turns into a large and life-giving tree. After helping to grow a successful new ministry at Heritage Green Family Church in Stoney Creek, ON, the Rev. David Moody has responded to God’s call to help other churches sow new ministry seeds. With the support of Presbyterians Sharing through Canadian Ministries, The Presbytery of Hamilton has called the Rev. Moody to serve as a replanting minister, guiding and journeying with congregations as they discern and implement new visions for their ministries. Presbyterians Sharing supports church growth

INVITATION TO SPIRITUAL DIRECTION – GERARD BOODY Spiritual direction is a strange concept for many of us. The idea of meeting with another person to talk about our lives in a context of prayerful listening may even sound intimidating. This is how it was for me when I first began to work with a spiritual director many years ago. But it soon became one of most meaningful and transformative things that I have done in life.
Spiritual direction is not as directive as it sounds. It is not therapy. It is not about fixing or problem-solving. And it is not about advice-giving. It is simply a relationship in which we listen together to discern where God is present, to hear the voice of Jesus, and to pay attention to the movements of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We notice the direction of our lives and the deep longings of our souls. We listen for the invitations God may have for us at any particular time. We attend to this so that we can fully be whom God has called each one of us to be.
In spiritual direction you may pay attention to growing in your relationship with God, issues of discernment for you, relationships with others, discovering and embracing the presence of God in the ordinary, learning how to pray, obstacles to growth and intimacy with God and others, living a life of greater justice and compassion …
As you consider this invitation, please feel free to contact Gerard Booy for more information or to schedule a first exploratory meeting (in person, by phone, or online). Contact information: email@example.com or 778-868-1548.
