Hymn: Thine be the glory                                                              #258
1. Thine is the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son; endless is the vict’ry Thou o’er death hast won. Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away, kept the folded graveclothes where Thy body lay.
Refrain ~
Thine be the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son;
endless is the vict’ry Thou o’er death hast won.
2. Lo, Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb. Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom; let His church with gladness hymns of triumph sing, for the Lord now liveth; death hath lost its sting.
[Refrain]
3. No more we doubt Thee, glorious Prince of life!! Life is nought without Thee; aid us in our strife; make us more than conqu’rors, through Thy deathless love; bring us safe through Jordan to Thy home above. [Refrain]

Children’s Time

Scripture Reading: Luke 24: 13-35

Sermon: “I Walk with The Risen Christ”

Hymn: And can it be that I should gain                                 #352
1. And can it be that I should gain God’s riches through the Saviour’s blood? Died he for me, who caused his pain?
For me, who him to death pursued? Amazing love! how can it be that thou, my God, should’st die for me?
Refrain ~
Amazing love! how can it be that thou, my God, should’st die for me?
2. ‘Tis mystery all! the Immortal dies: who can explore his strange design? In vain the first-born seraph tries to sound
the depths of love divine.
‘Tis mercy all! let earth adore; let angel minds inquire no more.
‘Tis mercy all! let earth adore; let angel minds inquire no more.
3. He left his Father’s throne above, so free, so infinite his grace, emptied himself of all but love, and bled for Adam’s helpless race.
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free, for, O my God, it found out me.
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free, for, O my God, it found out me.
4. Long my imprisoned spirit lay fast bound in sin and nature’s night; thine eye diffused a quickening ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; my chains fell off; my heart was free
I rose, went forth and followed thee.
My chains fell off; my heart was free. I rose, went forth and followed thee.
5. No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in him,
is mine; alive in him, my living head, and, clothed in righteousness divine, bold I approach the eternal throne, and claim the crown, through Christ, my own.
Bold I approach the eternal throne, and claim the crown, through Christ, my own.

April 17 – Rev. Robin Ross

Easter Sunday

We welcome you to this service of worship on the Lord’s Day. This morning we welcome the Rev. Robin Ross to lead us in Worship.

Welcome & Announcements

Easter Greeting: Khrystos voskres! Voistynu voskres! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

The Call to Worship: In Unison
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’” Then they remembered his words.

Invocation Prayer

Hymn: Jesus Christ is risen today                                          #243
1. Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia!
suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia!

2. Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
sinners to redeem and save, Alleluia!

3. But the pains which He endured, Alleluia!
our salvation hath procured, Alleluia!
now above the sky He’s king, Alleluia!
where the angels ever sing, Alleluia!

4. Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!
praise eternal as His love, Alleluia!
praise Him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia!

Prayer of Adoration, Confession and Assurance of Pardon

Children’s Time!

Scripture Reading: Luke 24:36-49

Sermon: “What Judas Missed”

Hymn: Christ the Lord is risen today                                   #247
1. ‘Christ the Lord is risen today,’ all creation join to say. Raise your joys and triumphs high; sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply. Love’s redeeming work is done, fought the fìght, the battle won: lo! our sun’s eclipse is o’er; lo! he sets in blood no more.

2. Vain the stone, the watch, the seal; Christ hath burst the gates of hell. Death in vain forbids him rise; Christ hath opened paradise. Lives again our glorious Kìng: where, O death, is now thy sting? Once he died our souls to save; where thy victory, O grave?

3. Soar we now where Christ hath led, following our exalted Head; made like him, like him we rise; ours the cross, the grave, the skies. Hail! the Lord of earth and heaven! Praise to thee by both be given; every knee to thee shall bow, risen Christ triumphant now.

Hymn: Hosanna, loud Hosanna                                                      #218
1. Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang;
through pillared court and temple the joyful anthem rang.
To Jesus, who had held them close folded to his breast,
the children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.
2. From Olivet they followed amid the shouting crowd,
the victor palm branch waving and chanting clear and loud;
Messiah, God’s anointed, rode there in humble state,
‘Hosanna, in the highest!’ rang out their praises great.

for Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of heaven our King.
Oh may we ever praise him with heart and life and voice,
and in God’s joyful presence eternally rejoice!

1. Ride on, ride on in majesty; hark, all the tribes Hosanna cry.
O Saviour meek, pursue thy road with palms and scattered garments strewed.
2. Ride on, ride on in majesty; in lowly pomp ride on to die.
O Christ, thy triumphs now begin o’er captive death and conquered sin.
3. Ride on, ride on in majesty; the angel hosts beyond the sky
look down with sad and wondering eyes to see the approaching sacrifice.
4. Ride on, ride on in majesty; the last and fiercest strife is nigh.
Thy Father on the sapphire throne expects thee, loved, anointed Son.
5. Ride on, ride on in majesty; in lowly pomp ride on to die.
Bow thy meek head to mortal pain; then take, O God, thy power and reign.
