Welcome & Announcements

The Call to Worship: Psalm 115
Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name be the glory, because of Your love and faithfulness.

Why do the nations say, “Where is their God?”
Our God is in heaven; He does whatever pleases Him.

The Lord remembers us and will bless us: He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron, He will bless those who fear the Lord – small and great alike.

All: May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth!

Prayer of Adoration, Confession and Assurance of Pardon

Hymn: Joyful, joyful we adore You                                    #410
1. Joyful, joyful we adore you,
God of glory, Lord of love.
Hearts unfold like flowers before you,
opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
drive the dark of doubt away;
giver of immortal gladness,
fill us with the light of day.

1. All your works with joy surround you;
earth and heaven reflect your rays;
stars and angels sing around you,
centre of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
flowery meadow, flashing sea,
chanting bird and flowing fountain,
join to praise you joyfully.

2. You are giving and forgiving,
ever blessing, ever blessed,
wellspring of the joy of living,
ocean depth of happy rest.
God Creator, Christ our Saviour,
all are yours who live in love.
Teach us how to love our neighbour;
lift us to your joy above.

3. Morning stars, awake the chorus;
mortals, join with every part,
for what joy is set before us
as Christ’s love joins heart to heart!
Ever singing, march we onward,
victors in the midst of strife;
joyful music leads us sunward,
in the triumph song of life.

Scripture Reading: John 7:37-44

Sermon:   “The abundant life”

Hymn: Tell me the old, old story                                        #499
1. Tell me the old, old story of unseen things above,
of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love¬
Tell me the story simply, as to a little child,
for I am weak and weary, and helpless and defiled.
Tell me the old, old story; tell me the old, old story; tell me the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

2. Tell me the story slowly, that I may take it in,
that wonderful redemption, God.s remedy for sin.
Tell me the story often, for I forget so soon;
the early dew of morning has passed away at noon.

3.Tell me the story softly, with earnest tones and grave;
remember I’m the sinner Whom Jesus came to save.
Tell me the story always, if you would really be,
in any time of trouble, a comforter to me.

4. Tell me the same old story, when you have cause to fear
that this world’s empty glory is costing me too dear.
Yes, and when that world’s glory is dawning on my soul,
tell me the old, old story: Christ Jesus makes thee whole.

Doxology & Dedication

The Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever.  Amen

Hymn: Take my life, and let it be                                        #637
1. Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee;
take my moments and my days: let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love;
take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing always, only for my King:
take my lips and let them be filled with messages from thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold: not a mite would I withhold
take my intellect, and use every power as thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine;
take my heart: it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne.

6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store;
take  myself and I will be every, only, all for thee.
