The Call to Worship:
The Lord speaks and says: “Because you cling to me in love, I will deliver you.  I will protect you because you know my name.”
Our God says: “When you call to me, I will answer you; I will be with you in trouble.  I will rescue you and honor you.  With long life I will satisfy you and show you my salvation.”
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will say to the Lord, “My Refuge and my Fortress.”
They who abide in the shadow of the Almighty will say to the Lord, “My God in Whom I trust.”

The Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer
Father, You spoke to us from Your word about contentment.  We have all the reason to be grateful, because each day we live with all the blessings in our personal lives, our families and our church family.  Bless us in all of our ministries.  May through us people’s lives be changed, that our praise be given to You.

Father, we bring before You this morning        and        . May their needs be answered in Jesus.

We continue to pray as our Lord taught us when we say…

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen

Hymn: Now thank we all our God                                                  #457

Langley Presbyterian Church Announcements

Food Bank Donations – the wheelbarrow is now in place at the back of the Sanctuary. We are collecting non-perishable food items for local families in need. Norma Leith will be delivering your donations to the Langley Food Bank.

Epiphany – The manifestation of God in Christ. This centres on the visit of the magi (Matthew 2:1-12); continues with Jesus’ baptism and first miracle; peaks on Transfiguration Sunday (last Sunday after Epiphany) when Jesus is seen in the light of glory.

We symbolize this with three stars/crosses. The three stars are symbolic of the prophetic visit of the three wise men. The central star/cross represents the Epiphany Star, the star of Jesus’ birth. The white colour symbolizes purity, holiness, faith and light.
Jesus is the light of the world!
