Advent Sunday – Next week is the 1st Sunday of Advent. Let us prepare ourselves for the Advent season. We have a Christmas Eve service on Sunday, Dec 24th at 6 pm. Please save the time and bring your family and friends.

 LPC Library Update – During the busy Christmas season, take a break with some great Christmas DVDs and books in the LPC Library. You’re invited to check out any items, including those on display. This is your library; go ahead and enjoy it!

 Peace Arch Chorus – A reminder that PAC will be performingSongs of the Season” with special Guests, Altitude Quartet and Wild Applause Quartet, on December 3rd from 2:00-4:00, here at Langley Presbyterian. Entry by donation. All are welcome!

Hummingbird Christmas Party – The Hummingbird Christmas Party will take place on December 9th at St. John’s Presbyterian at 1480 George St., White Rock, from 4-6:30 p.m.

Christmas Hampers – Thanks to the congregation, the hamper grocery list signup is complete, and all the gift tags have been taken.  Just a reminder that we need all the grocery items and the gifts at the church by Sunday, Dec. 3rd so that the hampers can be assembled by Dec. 9th.  Anyone wishing to make a financial donation can do so using their envelopes and designating the donation to ‘Christmas Hampers 2023’ and specifying the amount of the donation. Christina has purchased the gift certificates ($300 per family) from Walmart. Thanks once again for your generous support.

Clean-Up – Property is having a cleanup day on Saturday, January 13th, from 9-12:00. The purpose is to make room in our hall for potential renters: Nursery, Sunday school, kitchen, small office, and storage area.

Langley Presbyterian Church Announcements

Advent Study – Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Advent meditations, “God is in the Manger), will be using the Presbyterians Read study guide, “Reflections at Advent on Bonhoeffer’s Meditations”, with the Rev. Dr. Patricia Dutcher-Walls. Advent study will take place on Thursdays, Nov 30, Dec 7, Dec 14, and Dec 21, at 10:30 a.m. – noon. The sessions will be available in person at Trinity Edmonds (Gordon) and online. Details, for needed material and registration, are posted on the Community Boards.

Food Bank Donations – The wheelbarrow for food donations is at the back of the Sanctuary. We are collecting non-perishable food items for local families in need. Norma Leith has kindly volunteered to deliver your donations to the Langley Food Bank.

Christmas Concert – The Vancouver Orpheus Male Choir will be performing at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 20955 Old Yale Rd, Langley, on Sunday December 10th at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are available at St. Andrew’s Church Tuesday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the door or online at www.vancouverorpheus.com

45th Anniversary Celebration – November 19th is Langley PC’s 45th Anniversary! Please bring friends and family. We will have a cake cutting and take photos.

Cancelation – Men’s Breakfast – The breakfast scheduled for November 18th has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for January 2024.

Offering Envelopes – The offering envelopes for 2024 are available. They have been placed on the Welcome Table located in the main entrance.

Langley Presbyterian Church Announcements

Hummingbird Ministries – The Hummingbird Christmas Party will take place on December 9th (Corrected date) at St. John’s Presbyterian at 1480 George St., White Rock, from 4-6:30 p.m. They still need volunteers to help prepare the food for the dinner (at 3:00 p.m.) and support Christmas Caroling, dancing, and conversation. The Circle is at 4:00 and dinner will follow between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Santa will be visiting! You are invited to offer a gift suitable for a male or female of something that has special meaning to you, it could be homemade, or purchased, or regifted. We will be collecting a special offering next Sunday, November 12th.
