Rev. Lydia Sang-Min Bae is the minister of Langley Presbyterian Church. Before returning to British Columbia, she served at Heartlake Community Presbyterian Church in Brampton, ON.
She is married to Thomas, and together, they are wonderfully blessed with three adventurous, kind-hearted, and endlessly delightful daughters—Joy, Jane (& Andrew), and Jubilee.
Lydia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and her Master of Divinity from Knox College at the University of Toronto.
As their parents aged, she and Thomas decided to return to British Columbia. During this transition, Lydia explored military chaplaincy and now serves as a Chaplain with the 39 Combat Engineer Regiment, ministering to military members in Chilliwack, North Vancouver, Trail, and Cranbrook.
Lydia has a deep love for people, the church, and, above all, God. She sees her gifts as a warm presence, a keen listening ear, and a passion for equipping others in their faith journeys. Whether through preaching, pastoral care, or simply sharing a meal, she delights in building up the body of Christ.
Together with her husband, Thomas, who serves as the minister of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford, Lydia enjoys traveling, hiking, discovering new cuisines, and hosting friends and family around their beloved Thomas-built Korean BBQ table—where laughter and good food are always abundant.
