GO NOW IN PEACE
Go now in peace. Never be afraid.
God will go with you each hour of every day.
Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.
Know He will guide you in all you do.
Go now in love, and show you believe.
Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will be there watching from above.
Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.

Naomi’s Tree:  Joy Kogawa was six years old in 1942 when her family and all the Japanese-Canadian community on the West Coast was classified as enemy aliens and removed from their homes – the Internment!  Sixty years later she returned to Vancouver and found her house.  A new cherry tree was then planted in the yard using a cutting from the old dying tree.  The City of Vancouver took several more slips and planted the cherry trees that can still be seen around City Hall.  The Kogawa voice is a Christian voice.  Her story is also told in her novel Obasan (1981), in Naomi’s Road (1986) and in today’s Naomi’s Tree (2011).
